About Japahub
Japahub (japahub.com) is the safety layer for migration — a platform where every job, scholarship and visa pathway carries a risk rating, communities are moderated, and reporting a scam or trafficking red flag takes one tap. The UK is one of the biggest destinations for African students, health workers and professionals, and one of the most scam-targeted routes. This community exists to change that.
The role
You'll run Japahub's UK community: the trusted room for everyone applying to UK universities, chasing sponsorship, or finding their feet after arriving.
What you'll do
- Welcome new members to the community, keep conversations helpful and kind, and make sure no question goes unanswered.
- Start and steer the weekly threads that matter — visas, scholarships, jobs, housing, cost of living, settling in.
- Surface real opportunities for the community and route them through our verification process before they're shared.
- Protect people: spot suspicious offers, fake agents and red flags, and escalate them through Japahub's reporting and moderation tools (you'll be trained on our Safe Layer playbook).
- Host the conversations UK movers actually need: CAS and student visas, the Graduate Route, Skilled Worker and Health & Care sponsorship, the IHS surcharge, right-to-rent, NI numbers and first-week survival.
- Be the voice of your community to our product team — what members need next shapes what we build next.
We're looking for
We're looking for people who are already living this — people who track global opportunities the way others track football scores. You might be our person if:
- You're in the UK now (as a student, graduate, care worker or professional) or you're deep in the process of getting there.
- You've applied to (or won) UK opportunities: Chevening, Commonwealth Shared Scholarships, GREAT Scholarships, university funding, or sponsored roles — real application experience, including near-misses, is a genuine plus.
- You know the difference between a real Certificate of Sponsorship and a 'pay ₦2m for UK care job' scam — and you want fewer people to learn that the hard way.
- You're already answering UK-route questions in group chats, on X or in student forums.
- You write clearly, reply warmly and show up consistently.
Good to know
- Remote and flexible — a few hours a week to start, growing with the community.
- You'll get full training on Japahub's Safe Layer: verification, moderation and trafficking-aware escalation.
- You'll be one of the earliest members of the team building the safety layer for global migration, with real influence on the product and the community's culture.
- You will shape the community our own website previews as the example — Chevening threads, shift-swap boards, NHS and housing guides.
