About Japahub
Japahub (japahub.com) is the safety layer for migration — a platform where every job, scholarship and visa pathway carries a risk rating, communities are moderated, and reporting a scam or trafficking red flag takes one tap. The US remains the biggest single magnet for global talent, and its routes (F-1, OPT, H-1B, DV lottery) are among the most misunderstood and most exploited by fraudsters.
The role
You'll run Japahub's US community: honest answers for students, professionals and families navigating the world's most complicated immigration maze.
What you'll do
- Welcome new members to the community, keep conversations helpful and kind, and make sure no question goes unanswered.
- Start and steer the weekly threads that matter — visas, scholarships, jobs, housing, cost of living, settling in.
- Surface real opportunities for the community and route them through our verification process before they're shared.
- Protect people: spot suspicious offers, fake agents and red flags, and escalate them through Japahub's reporting and moderation tools (you'll be trained on our Safe Layer playbook).
- Host the conversations US movers need: F-1 and funded admissions, assistantships, OPT and STEM OPT, H-1B realities, the DV lottery (and its many scams), credential evaluation and first-year survival.
- Be the voice of your community to our product team — what members need next shapes what we build next.
We're looking for
We're looking for people who are already living this — people who track global opportunities the way others track football scores. You might be our person if:
- You're in the US now (on F-1, OPT, H-1B or beyond) or you're actively applying and know the process from the inside.
- You've applied to US opportunities: Fulbright, funded graduate programs, assistantships, exchange programs or the DV lottery — real application experience is a genuine plus.
- You can explain why nobody should ever pay an 'agent' to enter the DV lottery, and you enjoy explaining it.
- You already mentor juniors through SOPs, GRE waivers and I-20 questions.
- You write clearly, reply warmly and show up consistently.
Good to know
- Remote and flexible — a few hours a week to start, growing with the community.
- You'll get full training on Japahub's Safe Layer: verification, moderation and trafficking-aware escalation.
- You'll be one of the earliest members of the team building the safety layer for global migration, with real influence on the product and the community's culture.
- You'll build the community for the single most-requested destination on our waitlists.
